Submerged scraper conveyor is used as ash handling equipment for PC boilers in coal fired power plants and material conveying equipment in other fields like solid waste treatment, steel works, etc.
The submerged scraper conveyor is oriented horizontally to be used for the cooling，extracting and transporting the grate spill and ash residue to the ash discharge device.
The grate spill falls through the outlet pipes under the grate into the horizontal part of the conveyor filled with water. The outlet openings of the channels in the conveyor are buried below the water level, creating an air seal that prevents the entry of ambient air into the oven. In the conveyor chute filled with water, the grate spill is cooled due to water evaporation.
The water level in the submerged scraper conveyor is maintained at a constant level via a liquid level switch. The dehydration of the submerged scraper conveyor takes place during the oblique before the discharge. The vapors generated during the quenching process partly ascend through the slag chute into the furnace.
